Technical explanation

What are the correct storage conditions for filter membranes? What is the shelf life of new filter membranes?
Please see our technical article "Membrane Storage and Transport and System Shutdown Procedures".

What lubricant should I use on the pressure vessel and filter housing seals during installation?
You need to use special lubricants to avoid damaging the membranes in your system. This product is introduced on our official website, or please contact us via email.

How do I remove the taste and odor that sometimes occurs after activated carbon filtration?
Activated carbon filtration will remove residual chlorine from the water. Sometimes, this will cause bacteria to breed in the system behind it. Because there is no residual chlorine disinfection in the water, you need to remove the filter membrane or other equipment you installed behind the activated carbon filter. Disinfect with chlorine flush. Then replacing new equipment can solve the problem.

What should be the appropriate density of filter membrane for residential use?
0001 micron "pore size".

The number of times the filter membrane is rolled up is different, but the appearance of the filter membranes all look the same. Why are the performance of filter membranes with different flow rates different (for example: 24 gpd, 100 gpd, 3000 gpd)?
The effective area of the filter membrane material (ceramic paper) is different in various sizes. They look the same because the difference in membrane area is made up of other fabrics.

What is the difference between dry film and wet film?
When membrane filters are manufactured, they are dry. The shelf life of these dry films is nearly forever if stored in the proper environment. When filter membranes are flushed with water or manufacturers are required to perform product tube testing, they become wet. Once wet, the membrane cannot be dried again. Must remain in wet film state. In order to prevent the growth of microorganisms, wet films are usually preserved by using 1-2% sodium sulfite solution (Sodium Metabisulfite). For more detailed information, please see our technical education website on membrane storage.
