The difference between forward osmosis and reverse osmosis
Technical explanation
Forward osmosis vs reverse osmosis
Forward Osmosis: is the normal flow of a liquid from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration.
Reverse osmosis: is the reverse flow of a liquid from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration by the application of mechanical pressure.

Reverse Osmosis VS Ordinary Filtration
Reverse osmosis: The water supply is separated into permeate water (effluent) and concentrated water, in which contaminants in the water supply are washed away.
Ordinary Filtration: The water is passed through a filter, and contaminants are trapped in the filter.
